La cellule de gendarmerie Déméter, créée il y a deux ans par un pacte contre-nature entre deux syndicats promoteurs de l’agriculture industrielle – la FNSEA et les Jeunes Agriculteurs – et le ministère de l’Intérieur, est un dévoiement sans précédent d’un service public régalien à l’usage d’intérêts privés.
Le périmètre d’intervention de cette cellule, étendu aux actions symboliques et idéologiques, menace tous ceux qui critiquent les effets dévastateurs du système agricole dominant sur l’environnement et la biodiversité, et enfreint dangereusement les libertés fondamentales d’information, d’opinion et d’expression, garanties par la Constitution.
Ce pacte illégal est un outil de plus aux mains de quelques grands groupes agro-industriels, pour maintenir les agriculteurs dans un système dépendant des pesticides, et dévastateur pour le vivant, dont seules ces multinationales tirent profit. L’État, lui, se rend complice de l’extinction en cours des abeilles et des pollinisateurs, contre laquelle il promet pourtant d’agir, et se déshonore en faisant porter la suspicion sur ses propres citoyens.
Nous, journalistes, activistes, ONG, membres d’associations, et citoyens inquiets de l’effondrement vertigineux de toute la biodiversité, refusons d’être inquiétés pour des actions pacifiques et légales face au désastre provoqué par les pesticides, et condamnons cette dérive anti-démocratique et autoritaire.
Nous vous appelons à garantir notre droit à défendre les écosystèmes dont nous dépendons, et ainsi rendre possible un avenir sain et durable aux générations futures, en procédant à la dissolution immédiate de Déméter et de ses succursales, les observatoires de l’agribashing.
